Paul & sue

Paul Clarke designed the renovation and extension of our home 14 years ago. It continues to work perfectly for us, and we love it!
Paul and his team at Studio2 Architects are now designing our holiday home at Mt Maunganui, and we are delighted with these plans as well. His designs are innovative, make clever use of space and are beautiful in their detail. Studio2 are a pleasure to work with, and make the whole process a totally enjoyable experience.
We have used Paul twice now, and we continue to highly recommend him!

The team at Studio2 designed my house, The Crossing at Pakiri Beach in New Zealand. It featured on Grand Designs NZ in Series 1 ('the steel house). Working with builder Steve Haycock, the team were a significant part of the whole project - making it a fun, exciting process for me (it was my first ever build), and keeping me fully informed and in the know. Would I use them again? YES! We are looking into planning the second project soon...

Paul Clarke of Studio2 Architects designed and project managed the build of our beach house in Hahei on the Coromandel. We briefed Paul with an outline of our requirements for the site and we are very, very happy with the end result. Paul’s design initially took us out of our comfort zone but we came to understand that in order to make the most of the views and position we had we needed a design that addressed those opportunities. The build has  both strong and subtle architectural elements that have made the house both blend in to the landscape but also stand out quietly. The attention to detail and elements of design in the interior work incredibly well and have a strong relationship to the exterior. The relationship that we developed with Paul and his team over a four year period was such that we would most certainly work with him on another project.  As an architect Paul had a vision for the site and the build immediately. He drew a rough sketch initially followed by a model. It was very pleasing to see that four years down the track the initial concept had not changed much. Throughout the build  we had  many debates with Paul and we found that he was very good at listening if we were unhappy or unsure but also he very much held his ground if he thought the design might be jeopardised . As importantly we found that the plans, documentation and relationship with the building crew  were implemented incredibly well and this meant that we had an 18 month build that flowed almost without issue.
